A United Manchester -- both the reality and a goal...
It's official -- I've declared myself "a freelancer". I'll be focusing on contracts in the Manchester area to fit with the goals listed above of "connecting people", "building community", and "encouraging conversation".
I'll also be continuing my involvement with the Manchester Food Co-Op.
Our main focus right now is on the Manchester Food Co-Op (link to blog). In just a few months, nearly 1,300 people have expressed interest and/or joined the Manchester Food Co-Op Facebook Group!
A small step in the past was to start compiling a list of Manchester-area Twitter users. This list is now sadly out of date.
Once upon a time, I actively updated the "Jason's Sandbox Blog". Sometimes I still post, but more often than not, there are much better things to read at Fortress Manchester.
Lately, I've been very encouraged by activity in the Manchester artist community. This past week, there was a social/networking event that brought out a good number of people. A good resource for keeping tabs on things is Art Spider.
New/improved stores downtown!
Corey's (variety store?) near the Shaskeen, plus a used records/CDs store around the corner from the old Post Office Fruit Luncheonette! And there's a sports cards/collectibles store in that same block now, too. (see details in Jason's Sandbox.Join the email group and Bulletin Board to share your ideas:
